Update from last week

9 June 2026

To date, 3,989 surveys have been processed online. We are also working through a large number of hard copy responses and anticipate that we have now engaged with over 5,000 people across Northern Ireland. Trusts continue to engage through their local engagement plans, with a range of public-facing activities taking place.

Last week, the Southern Trust engaged with members of the public at both the Desy Jennings Football Tournament (supported by the Newry Community Development team) and the Lurgan Show (see photos), providing valuable opportunities for conversation and feedback.

Regional Planning team for This is our health (PHA) were delighted to take part in a NICON webinar on Friday 5th June 2026. This is part of a series of webinars exploring the Reset Plan for NI. “This is our health” programme. This programme of work was presented as a key driver to the work of the Reset plan with discussion on the commitment to Public Engagement and the importance of behavioural science approach to improve how we deliver services. Participants included Mike Farrar, Permanent Secretary, DoH; Meadhbha Monaghan, PCC, Denise Hampston, Behavioural science consultant and lead for This is Our Health and Linda Craig, PHA. For more information go to the website Northern Ireland Confederation for Health and Social Care or via Linked in. A link to the webinar will be shared in the next 2 weeks.

This week, Public Health Agency colleagues will be attending the NICVA Summit 2026 on Wednesday 10 June.

The NICVA Summit is Northern Ireland’s flagship event for the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector, offering a further opportunity to connect and promote the “This Is Our Health” initiative.
